Sesame Care Tirzepatide Review: Zepbound & Care Fees

Success by Sesame separates clinician care from medication cost. The care headline is from $59 per month with an annual subscription. Its month-to-month option is listed at $99, billed every twenty-eight days. Neither figure is the price of tirzepatide.¹

The current program page separately lists Zepbound KwikPen from $299 per month at 2.5 mg and a Zepbound vial starting at $299 monthly. Other products and strengths have different figures. Compare your prescribed product and pharmacy cost with the chosen care subscription rather than combining unrelated introductory headlines.¹

Choosing a clinician and paying for medication

Sesame presents a marketplace model: choose a provider, attend a video consultation, and continue through video care and messaging. Its displayed roster includes physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. A listing is not a guarantee that every clinician has the same specialty, availability or price. The program says some providers set higher fees.¹

The subscription covers ongoing clinical care and messaging. The program also advertises labs, but its FAQ limits included testing to Quest Diagnostics and excludes Arizona, Hawaii, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Wyoming. Patients in those states can incur separate laboratory costs. Confirm the needed test and location before assuming a lab order is included.¹

If prescribed, medication can be sent to a preferred local pharmacy or an appropriate delivery option. The program does not bill insurance for its care subscription, while insurance may cover prescribed medication. Authorization assistance and a low advertised copay do not establish that a particular insurer will approve Zepbound.

The billing calendars need separate attention

The annual subscription’s $59 monthly equivalent does not mean a $59 monthly debit. The FAQ lists annual billing once every twelve months, six-month billing every six months and quarterly billing every three months. The month-to-month option is expressly billed every twenty-eight days even though another answer calls it billed monthly.¹

That distinction can produce thirteen four-week care charges in fifty-two weeks. At an unchanged $99 rate, thirteen charges would be $1,287 before medication; this is arithmetic illustrating the stated interval, not a quoted annual plan. Ask for the actual amount due, chosen provider’s price and next billing date. Do not derive a selected annual invoice from the lowest average without confirming its terms.

Subscription refunds and cancellation

The weight-loss FAQ promises a full subscription refund if cancellation occurs at least three hours before the initial visit’s start time. It says the first month is not refunded once the visit has occurred, and prior months’ fees are nonrefundable. Future charges can be avoided by canceling before the next billing cycle.¹

The general Terms separately require forty-eight hours before renewal processing for Membership Services and include a multi-month early-cancellation clause that reprices used service at the standard monthly rate before refunding any remaining balance. That section also discusses other Sesame membership products with different prices. Confirm which provisions apply to the selected weight-loss subscription; do not assume the general repricing provision guarantees a weight-loss refund or that the shorter program FAQ notice overrides every renewal rule.²

The Terms specifically exclude visit refunds merely because a prescription is not received or the patient disagrees with the clinical outcome. A paid consultation is therefore not a guarantee of medication or a full medical-denial refund. Keep the appointment cancellation and subscription cancellation confirmations separately.

Pharmacy orders have their own limits

Sesame’s Terms describe optional prescription delivery through Truepill, but that is not proof every Zepbound order is dispensed by Truepill. They say an initial order through that prescription service cannot be canceled or refunded. Refills can be canceled before processing for delivery; where refills are authorized, the card can be charged for each fill and associated fees.²

A prescription sent to an independently chosen pharmacy can instead be subject to that pharmacy’s own payment and fulfillment rules. Canceling the care subscription does not by itself establish that a pharmacy order has been stopped. Confirm both when planning to discontinue service.

What the published prices do and do not show

The program’s $149 cash-pay GLP-1 headline applies to other named medicines, including oral semaglutide or orforglipron, rather than a universal tirzepatide price. Zepbound KwikPen, vial and other pen listings are distinct. Product and dose pricing can change, and insurance, manufacturer offers and pharmacy charges can affect the actual cost.¹

The practical benefit is clinician choice with an explicit care-fee structure. The trade-offs are a separate medication bill, possible extra lab costs and different cancellation rules for care and fulfillment. No assessment of this marketplace establishes a clinician’s individual treatment decision or guarantees continuity with a particular provider.
