Hims Tirzepatide Review: Zepbound, Membership & Cancellation

Hims currently offers brand-name Zepbound KwikPen from $299 per month, billed monthly for medication only, with a required Weight Loss Membership of $39 for the first month, then $149 per month. The pen contains four weekly doses. The care subscription is an additional purchase, not a medication-inclusive $39 introductory plan.¹

Keeping the two charges separate makes the service easier to compare: at the advertised medication floor, the two components total $338 initially and $448 with the ordinary monthly membership. Those examples do not establish every dose's drug price, a prepaid supply invoice or a guarantee that a clinician will prescribe Zepbound.¹

What the membership buys

The terms include an initial telehealth evaluation, monthly routine check-ins, visits for clinically appropriate medication adjustments, unlimited provider messaging, care-team support and a private community. Nausea medication may be included if prescribed. The membership focuses on weight management; it is not primary care or health insurance.²

The product page advertises several branded GLP-1 options with different starting prices. A provider decides which, if any, is appropriate. Zepbound's approved formulation and the platform's service quality are different questions. Ask about refill coordination, appointment access and how symptoms reach the clinical team rather than treating a branded product as proof of a particular care experience.^1,2

Two subscriptions and potentially a separate pharmacy bill

The terms distinguish the automatic Weight Loss Membership from an automatic Weight Loss Medication Plan. Medication amounts and renewal intervals depend on the selected plan. An active membership is required for evaluation and continuing medication-plan access; routine dose adjustments do not themselves stop renewal.²

Some manufacturer self-pay prescriptions can instead be sent to Gifthealth, an independent third party. In that route, medication billing, fulfillment, cancellation and refunds follow that pharmacy's own agreement. The Hims membership still needs its own cancellation. The general terms do not establish which fulfillment arrangement will apply to an individual prescription.²

Canceling medication does not cancel care billing

Both the membership and Hims medication plan require cancellation at least two days before the originally scheduled billing date. The first renewal can process early, and later renewals or shipments may process up to two days early. The terms expressly calculate the cancellation deadline from the original billing date despite that early processing.²

Canceling a medication plan leaves membership billing active. Canceling membership also cancels the Hims medication plan, but where a prepaid multi-month medication supply has already shipped, membership cancellation does not take effect until that supply period ends. Membership charges remain due for the active medication-plan period. A pause in medication is therefore not proof that every recurring payment has stopped.²

Cancellation options include My Subscriptions in the account or app, customer support email and telephone. Keep confirmation for both the medication arrangement and the membership, especially when an external pharmacy collects the medication payment.²

Refund rights depend on timing

The first membership month is nonrefundable, and medication cannot be refunded after shipment. For a Hims medication plan, an initial order qualifies for a refund when canceled within 48 hours after submitting payment information and before shipment. Renewal refunds require cancellation at least two days before the next billing date. Other partial-period refunds are discretionary, rather than promised.²

Those are separate conditions from clinical eligibility. A paid membership does not guarantee a prescription, and an external pharmacy can have different medication-refund rules. Confirm the selected drug price, care renewal, supply period and fulfillment provider before payment.

Hims is most straightforward to evaluate as a branded-medication route with ongoing paid support. The main trade-off is that membership can remain a financial commitment even when no new medication shipment is wanted. Compare the full period of care and medicine, not just the first charge.
