Chronos Tirzepatide Review: Louisiana, Texas and Starter Costs
Researched & written by Alan PierceClinical Pharmacology WriterUpdated
On this page
Chronos Body Health & Wellness offers tirzepatide care through its Metairie clinic and telehealth for Louisiana and Texas. Current pages distinguish branded prescribing from compounded treatment and publish useful differences in consultation and medication charges.12
Its local pricing page lists a $475 compounded tirzepatide starter package, described as lasting approximately 2.5–3 months at a starting dose. That is neither an all-dose monthly price nor permission to keep one opened vial in use for that entire period.2 We reviewed published information without an appointment or medication purchase.
Compare the complete offer
| Published information | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Louisiana/Texas telehealth; Metairie office | Eligibility and encounter location |
| $475 compounded starter package | Dose, vial count and later refill price |
| $99 office/free first telehealth consultation | Required tests and follow-up arrangement |
| Brand care: $99 per visit; pharmacy cost separate | Your complete approved-product cost |
Two treatment pathways
Chronos describes prescriptions for approved products such as Zepbound or Mounjaro and a separate compounded option when medically appropriate. Its dedicated tirzepatide page describes ongoing monitoring, dose adjustments and a combination of virtual and in-person care.1
Ask which pathway the clinician recommends and why. The distinction changes both the medicine and the payment arrangement. A brand prescription filled at your pharmacy should not be priced as if it were the clinic's compounded starter package. A compounded preparation should not inherit an approved brand's trial results as proof of equivalence.
Consultation charges differ
The New Orleans-area program page lists an in-office consultation at $99, with follow-ups included for compounded patients, and a free initial telehealth consultation. For branded GLP-1 care, it describes $99 per provider visit, with medication billed separately by the pharmacy.2
The page says there is no mandatory membership or contract and that visits are not billed to insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. It describes HSA/FSA acceptance and financing options.2 These are the clinic's published payment descriptions, not an insurance determination for your medicine.
Obtain the actual estimate for your chosen encounter type and prescription. Include required laboratory work, care visits, medication, supplies and any financing cost. A free first telehealth visit does not make subsequent medication or branded follow-ups free.
How to interpret the $475 starter package
The stated duration is tied to a starting dose. It does not establish the refill price after titration, a fixed amount of weight loss, or a guaranteed number of months for every patient.2 Ask for the prescribed milligrams, total quantity, number of vials and anticipated reorder point.
Also ask whether a treatment change leaves unused medicine, how pricing changes with a higher dose and whether additional supplies are needed. Dividing $475 by a best-case duration produces only an arithmetic average, not a verified monthly subscription rate. We do not use that division to rank Chronos against all-dose programs.
FDA generally recommends discarding multidose sterile GLP-1 vials within 28 days of first use, even if the compounder's opened-vial instruction is longer.3 Ask how the package is divided into unopened vials, what storage is required and which discard date applies after opening. Several months of supplied medication is different from several months of using one opened vial.
Regional access and continuing support
The dedicated product page expressly describes telehealth access in Louisiana and Texas and in-office care in Metairie. It says treatment depends on medical history, current medications and provider evaluation.1 We do not extend that statement into nationwide eligibility.
If you travel or move, check where you must physically be during appointments and whether refills remain available. Ask who responds to symptoms, how clinical follow-ups are scheduled and whether the same fee structure applies to your location. Public descriptions of provider guidance do not independently verify an individual's treatment experience.

Pharmacy and cancellation details
The local program explains that a compounded prescription comes through a licensed pharmacy and a brand prescription can go to the patient's pharmacy.2 Obtain the actual dispenser's identity, contact details and authorization for your state before treatment. Request the concentration and written administration instructions for the exact product.
The no-contract marketing does not by itself establish a refund for a filled prescription, a paid appointment or medicine that cannot be used after a dose change. Ask for the appointment cancellation and medication-refund policy before paying. We did not establish a blanket satisfaction refund from the inspected pages.
FDA distinguishes compounded GLP-1 drugs from approved products and recommends compounding only when a patient's needs cannot be met by an approved drug.3 A local clinic and continuing support can be useful service features without independently proving the quality or outcomes of a particular compound.
Our assessment
Chronos provides a useful regional comparison because it publishes separate care and medicine arrangements. Its starter-package duration, later-dose pricing and opened-vial handling are the practical questions to resolve. Compare the full prescribed plan with other providers, the care-options guide and Zepbound cost options.
